30 DAY PERMIT
Foreign nationals are required to obtain a 30 Day Permit when visiting American Samoa. The permit is valid for 30 days. Foreign nationals five (5) years of age and under are exempt from the permit fee although they are still required to go through the process to obtain a permit.
Application Process

Submit Copies of the following documents:

Copy of valid passport or Document of Identity (both must be valid for at least six (6) months prior to date of departure from American Samoa);

Copy of itinerary or ticket (must be a round trip ticket);

Clearance from the District Court of American Samoa;

Clearance from the Lyndon B. Johnson Tropical Medical Center (LBJ) business office;

Police clearance from traveler's home country; (For Samoa citizens only, police clearance valid for one year.)

Medical/health clearance from traveler's home country;
(For Samoa citizens only, no medical clearance required for those not intending to reside or work in American Samoa.)

Additional Requirements:

30 Day Permit must be requested at least 3 business days prior to date of travel to American Samoa ;

Local sponsor must obtain signatures from sponsor's family sa'o as well as the pulenu'u of the sponsor's village or residence. If the local sponsor holds a deed for privately owned land, signature of the sa'o will not be required. Must provide a copy of the deed with local sponsor's name.

Local sponsor must show up at the Immigration Office to ensure all the required documents are included in the application package, to sign the application and to verify their identity BEFORE 30 Day Permit application is processed.
Important Note:
​Any person or group arriving in American Samoa without the approvals required may be refused entry by an immigration officer
Fees

30 Day Permit fee - $40 USD (non-refundable)(fee is waived for children under five (5) years of age).
Extension:$50 USD -
Court Clearance - Check with the district court at (684) 633-1101.

Hospital Clearance - Check with the business office at (684) 633-1222.

NOTE: Sponsor must appear in person at the Immigration Office to submit the required documents and initiate processing.
